Well, I still don't have my 9N running... something about too many projects! However this last weekend my brother in law called and said he found a Sickle bar at a New Holland dealer about 40 miles south of me. It was a rainy type day and he said he would buy my family lunch at an Amish resteraunt if I wanted to go look at it. So we went down and It looked fairly decent and I thought it was cool the decal even lists 9N, 2N and 8N for top link adjustments. The guy originally told my BIL $100, but when we went to pay him he only would take $75 cause he said the thing was absolute junk and totally unrepairable, but he said he would give us a free pitman arm if we wanted it.
We gave him the $75 and they loaded it onto my trailer. (Then we went and ate! Only one thing better than a Amish buffet... a free Amish buffet!)

Any way we stopped off and picked up new sections and rivets and took it all home. We did some minor clean up and replaced the sections and the pitman arm. The part the dealer said was in bad shape was the ball joint that clamps to the lift arms. The one is very worn and has been brazed.
We hooked the 501 up to my FIL Ford 3000 and it worked beautifully even in the thick wet grass we used as a test section! Could not have asked for better, especially for a little over $100. I can't wait to get it on my 9N and give it a whirl.
However my BIL and myself are looking for a possible parts source for those ball clamps and we would like to have a manual or a copy of one. Any help with those two things would be greatly appreciated.

James

James,
I also have a 501 and have some info you might find interesting. Send me your email address and I can send you about 25 pages of .pdf format pictures and parts lists for your 501. Mine also works great, after I got the set-up figured out.
