Thanks, Tim

8N'r:

Though I'm not certain, I do not believe that they interchange.

Perhaps this guy will know:

I saw that on ebay too. I'm watching it with interest because I have a TO-30. I won't be bidding. Heck I don't even have the Fergy running yet! But it does look interesting!

Is this one of those devices that replaces the coupling tube aft of the tranny, before the pinion that is a hyd clutch?

If it is, 2 things to look at, what are it's dimensions, and what are the spline dimensions it expects.

2, where are you going to get hyd pressure to feed it?

I f the dimensions are correct, and splines are correct.. or adapters can be made.. doesn't look like much mor ethan a fabrication and machining project for the first part.. now.. for the 2nd part.. My guess is you will need some low volume engine mounted pump to provide some hyds.. A zane thang or a stinger mounted pump could be made to work.

Thinking about this.. you could go to a zane thang, or stinger pump.. add a jackson power steering setup, add a DA remote valve on the back for a towed lift implement.. You would have live hyds.. and then also live pto.. Course.. probably at a cost of about 3000$ additional parts and machining.. over the cost of the N you were adding this to... Vs just buying a 661 with a power steering option kit.. etc.

I'm not familiar with what the fergy uses for the live pto.. but as i said.. if it is similar to the dearborn type unit.. it 'might' be 'made' to work.. etc..

Sounder---take a peek at it---what do you think?

Ebay--# 300123559417

Kind of unique---I have heard of them, but never saw one---Ford made one as well---compatible?

Dearborn had one for the fords.

looks like this one works on a similar principle.. though is manual with a clutch handle coming out near the pto shifter is ont he round inspection cover... IE.. the unit is in place o fthe coupler tube from the trans to the pinion.. and no hyds are needed.

Would it fit? Dunno.. would have to measure it and see the splines... Could it be made to fit? If it wasn't too big... probably...

11 posts down there is an article that shows the dearborn unit.. here is a link to it:
