Due to weather and the ongoing reroofing of our house, my second cut happened about a week later than intended - alfalfa was mostly bloomed out already. Actually, the alfalfa is down to about 50% of the actual vegetation in the field - weeds are taking over and I will definitely need to plow it all under this fall.

At any rate, the sickle bar worked a treat this time - only plugged up a few times when I got careless with lining up with the previous row. The N worked just fine, too, although she got to where she was sputtering when I made the turns at the corners - probably a bit of dirt in the fuel line shifting around. The strainer bowl looks clean, so I might try draining the carb and see if that helps.

Someone posted here recently complaining about all the work they were having to do on their recently acquired N. Well, this tractor I'm using was the same way for the first month or two, but once I got everything sorted out, it's worked great with almost no complaints for going on three seasons now. Of course, now that I've praised it in public, you KNOW what's going to happen!

To post an image, you need to host the image somewhere (PhotoBucket, on this site, your own site, etc.). Then copy the image address and insert it into your message like so:

Morning ED;
Glad everything is workin' for ya. As for the sputtering on the corners, I would say, the screen at the top of the sediment bowl, is catching a little something in it when the N leans around corners. JMO
As for the complaints about having troubles with the N 's, I really cannot believe some people think that all they have to do, is climb on and drive. It should be expected to have some problems to sort out on a tractor, as old as the N's. They have survived for a long time, and that is due to people wanting to work for what they have.
BTW; Where's the pic's of all your labor??? We love to see the fruits of people at work!!! {:-)
