Thought perhaps someone would know or have the same chainsaw I can"t find my owners manual and it"s out of gas and no one has the Homelite Exact Mix oil around here and the homelite website is useless. I need to know the fuel-oil mix ratio for a homelite 27AV powerstroke 20 in. chain saw. I"m guessing 50:1 would work but would rather have the correct mix so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Premie

I looked at Homelite's website and read through a few manuals and all were 50:1 (2.6 ozs per gal of gas) ratios. I usually mix mine a little richer than that (32:1), but either should work.

One mix you can always use on any 2 cycle engine is a mix of 8 oz two cycle oil to one gallon gasoline. May smoke a bit but you can bet it ain't gonna harm any of the engine parts.

If you have gas that you think my be the mix gas but not sure. "When in doubt pour it out"!

When I was a boy and ran motor bikes with two cycle engines we always used a coke bottle full of just regular non detergent 30W oil. Never had any problems other than build up in the exhaust system but that could be fixed by throwong the exhaust pipe in the fire! Don't try that with an aluminum exhaust. Exhaust off a Maul chain saw looked fine in the fire till I touched it. Shazahm! It was gone!
