My 47 2N has the hole in the hood for that but the stack is long gone. In fact the whole air cleaner was missing when I bought it. It had an air cleaner from a whole other tractor (hundred series I think) cobbled onto it. I found a used N series air cleaner for it, it is not the stack kind unfortunately.

Air cleaner additions were -optional- items. You can't us ethe presence or absence of a stack/jar mount to decide if a tractor is a 9n / 2n any more than you can from the headlamps.. etc..

yeah i wasn't sure about them. my brother has this tractor with a very sweet running rebuild on the engine. he got it for $1900 last summer. just purrs. s.n. specs to a 47 2n. guess i'll have to get some casting #'s underneath to figure the actual year. only thing i don't like about it is that it has no draft control for the implements. actually, if my 8n didn't have it i would probably sell it. like not having power steering in a car now a days.

The 2N that I have('46 model), had only draft control until I installed the "Zane Thang" position control. Now I have both and it works great.

Why wouldn't the 2n have draft control... It should ONLY have draft control.. from the factory.

You can always add a zane thang to it to give it position control.

Search for a message where Zane ( zane sherman ) has posted.. send him an email..

He makes a neat device that will make your 2n operate with position sensing hyds.. very similar to an 8n.. The controls handle a bit different.. but the end result is the same on the 3pt.

Simple enough that even a.. uh.. Ahem.. a woman could install it... ( no offense to any women folk here... )

$90 delivered. You will like your tractor even more after you have it.
