Maybe first you'll want to check the oil level but removing the bottom bolt in the side plate and let it sit overnight.

If there is a bunch that comes out, you have a couple things to consider....

a) was it overserviced?... or

b) is water making it appear overserviced by leaking in through an "incontinent" shifter boot?

Work that 'root cause' first.... then clean up the brakes.

Good Luck duey

Sounds like it is time for Sure seals.Have to remove the bolts on the small end of the trumpet and slide out the axle, brake assembly will come out with it..Be sure to grease the bearing before you install the Sure Seal since the bearing will no longer get oiled from the rear end.. Be sure the axle is super smooth where the lip of the seal will run. Sure Seals cost about $12-$14. Hope this helps. Installed SS on mine about 3 years ago and have had no problem.

Yes, do not mess with the seals that are in there unless you are lucky like I was and I had to remove old Sure seals before I could install the new ones. Sure Seals fit really tight. My old ones were tough to get out. Take a file and taper the outer edge of the new seals to help get them started. Once started, a pipe of the right side slipped over the axle really helps with the installation.
