Robert..... ..what we have here is a "failure" to communicate. (grin)

Roadgear in the 8N is 4th-gear. (its even labeled 4, between R and 1, isn't that amazing?) It has a maximum roadspeed of 15.47mph at full throttle.

Howsomevers; don't get confused with the dealer installed Sherman auxiliary tranny with shifter lever over yer left-toe. The Sherman tranny in OverDrive will hustle yer 8N down the road at a speedy 23.12mph. Be certain to keep yer mouth closed 'cuz buggs on yer teeth taste blattzs. (grin)..... ..Dell

All 8N's came with a 4 speed transmission. 4th gear is yer road gear.

4th gear is for strolling down the "country lane" with your N! :-)

jdchet, pull that lever under yer steering wheel on the right side all the way down on mine and that is "rrrolling" ant not 'strolling'. Maybe someone needs to work on yours.
