Draft Control Rod

How does the end of the Draft control rod connect inside the unit or does it? Does it sit in a saddle? is it a ball and socket?,snap ring?,pin?, or other? On the one I have it looks to be some what of a round small ball @ the end of the rod. with out draining some of the oil out it is not visible. I can feel what I think is a half round type saddle the rod sits on. How about some help on this.

I believe what you are describing is the control "arm"... yes, it just sits in there & connected only at the top.

Are you talking about the plunger rod with fine threads that fits with the big draft spring for 2n-8n-NAA???

What's the exploded diagram in your master parts catalog show you?
