Well I got these new(old)shares put on a little while ago. They are far more aggressive than what I had on there. I am not sure but I think that with them hanging over a couple more inches to the rear of the old ones that I may have to change my angle of attack when plowing. I tested them with the back of the landslide set about 1.5" higher than the front point. They slowed the tractor down more than the old shorter shares. Plus the old shares were NOT rock shares(no point on them). Definately a different animal. Anyway, here is a pic of them and the second pic is when I just got done testing them.

Arthur,

Do you have an Oliver part number for that share? I was told by my local shade tree tractor mechanic that with a little tinkering there are JD shares that will also fit on the Dearborns and Fergies, but I haven"t had a need to try.

Colin
PS: Nice looking garden you"ve got! You must have a bit longer growing season there.

Colin, yes these are oliver shares. They are almost a perfect fit. I have to tink with the bracket holes in back of the moldboard a little bit so that I can close up that gap. I guess there are some JD shares that can fit also if tinkered with.

EastCentral Wisconsin here. Not a long growing season. Thanks

Arthur..... ..pay attention to yer share's "GAP". There should be NO GAP. You may need to "loosen" and "tap" both yer new share and yer "shin". They should fit "flush" against your moldboard..... ..Dell

hi dell
that is the closest that i can get it without ovaling that bolt hole on the bracket behind the mold board. i did tap it up as close as it would go. they are not a perfect fit but to get a new set of hardened rock shares for $12...well i cannot complain.
tomorrow is another day and hopefully i will get time to correct it. i really think that i may have to shorten the rear of those shares some but i have to test it some more.

Those plow bolts look loose. Have you checked them?

I don't think you are going to make much headway plowing that concrete slab...
