I had to replace my 1948 8N block due to internal cracks. The replacement 1948 8N block had replacement cam bushings installed. It was a professional job and my machinist was impressed. I should have put a new cam shaft in though as after the full rebuild my oil pressure drops to just under 10 psi and I am pretty sure it is clearance in between these bushings and used cam shaft.

Anyway, this is an oddity and you don't see it often.

I've heard of our motors having Ford flathead V8 cam bearings installed in them. Never done it myself, just what I've heard.

No, at least not unless a machinist has reworked the block, and installed them.

Then does the cam shaft have somekind of bearing or bushing on it?

The cam runs directly in the bore of the cast iron block.

Then I take it the camshaft journals are made of softer material so that they wear instead of the cast iron block, or maybe cam shaft journal wear isn't normally a issue with these engines?

The block AND the camshaft are both made of cast iron, and both do wear, USUALLY not enough to cause problems.

As I said before, I have heard of folks line-boring the block to accept inserts. I have no idea of what specific inserts they'd use, but engine bearing catalogs have a progressive size chart for inserts, and it's often possible to find one from another application that will allow something like this to be done.
