Chipper..... ...you may need to inspect yer throttle linkage for "slop".

But most likely, its yer "governor". Yer governor balls gitt flatt spotted and the cone race they roll on gitts grooved. Both can be repaired. To check yer governor, with engine running about 1/4th-throttle, grab yer carb to governor rod (it won't bite you) and try and "jazz" yer engine for more RPM's. Does it "fight you"??? NO? bad governor. Rebuild kit $100 (cheap) Replacement governor $250; yer call..... ....Dell

I know when giving it throttle and watching the arm on the carb where the rod comes in from the throttle does not move until you move the lever a considerable amount and then it'll jump. Also, unless the two arms where the governor are tied together, it will try to run away.

Chipper..... ..I don't know how to make this more understandable. ITS YER GOVERNOR. rebuild it. Squander $25 for the I&T FO-4 manual. It even has pictures for the mechanically challenged..... .respectfully, Dell
