I have a 1948- 8N. How do I clean the gas tank. Can't keep it runnin' Suspect "gunk" in tank and filter. Been sittin' about 1 year.

You'll find that the tank is conviently mounted in a big carrying case called your hood. This semi complicates matters.. but not too terribly.
If ya got some loose gunk.. fill with your favorite solvent.. bear hug it and shake rattle and roll.

Some have chained them to a really big tractor tire and ran around with a couple feet of small chain inthem.

If it is real bad and pitt4d and rusty.. considder sealcoating it with one o fthe many tank liners available.. ( por, kreem.. etc.. )

Also.. remember you have 3 fuel screens.. one atop the tank tap.. one in the tank tap bowl.. and one in the carb elbow.
