Thanks to Dan and Henry for the heads up on the "extra" front bolts behind axle support.

To me those are dangerous. When I put it back together, I will cut the heads off two bolts and slot for screwdriver. The holes need to be pliuged with something if they go through to the oily side. I will give em a dab of epoxy to keep em in place.

Loosing some oil I can live with, it leaks anyway, busted iron would ruin the day. YMMV

Screwdriver slots?

How about just studs and nuts?

SouNdguy, I was meaning to just plug the holes and not use them for fasteners, for fear they will go unnoticed next rNr and Murphy's Law. I don't want me or the next guy to break something expensive.

While on the subject, the reason I went in, is that when I rebuilt the engine I could only get one of the gears. My OP has been sort of low. I have the 9/16 gears and don't know weather to up grade to 3/4 or just put a kit in what I've got. Engine runs strong. Any thoughts?
