Sean: Good job on the cutting by the lake. I'm not sure if you need one or not but I have a cement mixer you can have. I noticed in some of your posts that you're doing different projects around your place and could maybe use a mixer. I live in Bergheim which should be close to you.

OW has a vertical pipe, and I mow plenty with it and it don't worry me much. Of course, here in North TX we always have a good wind, and OW has a new engine so it runs real clean. I have a regular pipe hanging in the rafters, and always intended to install it, but I just never found a good reason to move away from my "temporary" vertical pipe. I start tomorrow on my regular 60 acre job, first time out with OW's new 6' Squealer, plus the JD 4720 and its 6' MX should do that job in about 17 hours.

Hey, Zeusdog. Where you located? I'm about five miles north of Bellville, fifteen minutes to Brenham.

Ok, now I know the area. Beautiful out there. I run 281 to Blanco and then across to 290 to go into Austin sometimes just to break up the boring 1-35 drive.

I do most of my mowing now with my Nh 7610s and batwing mower.. but do love to fire up the 5000 and 10' mower every now and then. There is a long and wide strip of ROW property between my neighbors pasture and mine.. he usually mows it with a JD rider mower... however I beat him to it tonight.. took about 4 passes with the 5000.. plus it was nice to put some time on her to keep her battery charged.

good pics!

Guadalupe? You must be pretty close. I cut across it off I-10 all the time when heading out to San Antonio on one job or another. I'm closer to Brenham. Those pics from north or south of I-10?

I worked on a n with that vertical Zaust, It had PTO problems so gave it a good work out with the hog, I hatted that zaust blow'n Zaust fumes at me. Working around the carb and side mount dist I wanted to grab it for some reason, I will stick with the belly Zaust.

Ditto on the vertical stack. My '50 N came with one, and I replaced it fairly shortly after purchase because I smelled like concentrated 8N exhaust every time I used it.

Of course, with the borrowed N I'm currently using (belly muffler) – which has an exhaust leak at the manifold – it's almost as bad...

Hi Sounder.....

Hope you are gett'n rain for your hay. Weather up here has been scortching hot and DRY. Most have lost most of their corn. Sorta like I forecasted back in MAY.

I don't see anything out there to make much concern about hurricanes in your area this season. Nothing happening much around the equator.

Should be a good season coming up for Peru and Chile and the South American vegetable crops for the upcoming Winter markets here in the Northeast, USA

We have just emptied the cold storage rooms with the Chile apples that we had since March.

At least our grain farmers got their barley and wheat in by now. Hay and straw is already going up in price because the local horse farms are now having to buy hay because the pastures are dried up.

The larger fruit boys are already selling their products to the Carolina's, Virginia makets since theirs got frozen out last March.

So for now, our local agriculture economy is looking bleak and everyone is putt'N off capital expenditures to later, maybe next year.

Thank good ness we are getting rain now.. at least 5x per week. I've actually had so much grass come up I have maoved a couple animals off feed completely.. I'm saving the rest of my hay for this winter, and working at getting my main pasture re-grassed while we have plenty of sun and water.

it's been scortching hot here.. but at least it gets wet every couple days..

thanks for the checkup!

I have a nice flat lot on the other side of town you can beat me to it any time, do you need directions. The guy that ownes the lot b-side it mowes mine if he beats me to it, I mow his lot if I beat him to it, he beats me more than I beat him. He wants to buy my lot, I ort to let'em beat me more than I do. Some one planted corn or beans on it for rite many years, I never ask any questions I did not have to mow it. He quit for some reason I should run'em down and ask why, free land to grow on I would think is hard to come by.

My neighbor and I do that more or less.

If one of us is mowing, we usually mow the front of the street in front of each others house if we have time. My neighbor has a gat on his fence that exits into that strip of county ROW property between us and uses it frequently.. thus his desire to keep it mowed. I don't use it at all.. however do mow it sometimes.

I heard from an attorney that either one of us could apply to the county to purchase that land.. as it was for an old utility causeway that was never used, and instead they went with big overhead lines that cross the north side of my property.

Gotta think about that one day... Would be an extra couple ac or so of good grazing land..
