My 9N came with wide car tires and they tended to slide easily in turns if I had an implement on back. I switched them out to narrow studded retread snow tires. I would have gotten ribbed farm tires, but the ones I used were free & they work pretty good.

Yep, those will work. The 16 inch rim size is the big factor. Like one of the other guys said 16s is 16s. They'll look wide but so..... ..

well the 225 is the width of the tire flat. the 60 is is 60% of that. the 16" diameter rim has nothing to do with those two things.

just wondering if anyone had car tires on and if they could give out the numbers.

thanks for the replies also

The 60 means the sidewall is 60% as high as the tread is wide- this won't affect if it fits or not. The 225 is the tread width in millimeters. 225 mm is 22.5 cm, and there are approximatly 2.2 cm per inch, so the tire is about 10 inches wide. It will fit the rim, although not well, but I think it would rub the spindle. Unless you are trying to be easy on the grass, you're better off with tractor tires on front. They will help your tractor steer much better.

You are alittle wrong with your conversion from metric to SAE. There are 2.54 cm to an inch vs the 2.2 cm you mentioned. That is gonna make those tires about 8.75 inches wide. Not a huge difference, but there is one.

Im not sure how wide a 60 series tire is but they may rub on the inside when you get them on the tractor. I would put one on and if it worked put the other on. My 2 cents

How wide were the rims the tires came off of? You know the diameter matches, if the width is close, I'd think you'd have a good shot at it. I've seen plenty of Ns around with car tires on the front. Seems to work.
