im new to forum and have found it to be very helpful i have a thousand questions but only a few to get started i purchased a 9n #9n790029 what yr is it this is going to be a working tractor but i would like presentable (grey red primer rust now)any ideas on brands and color of rattle can paint i would like to make it a red belly enough for now thanks radee1

Ya got too many numbers in that sn.. first number for 1947 was 250???.. your number of 790??? blows that out of the water..

Post back with the correct SN and we can date your engine..

You might find this site helpful to identify which tractor you have:

A 9N or 2N would be gray & have a 3 speed transmission. An 8N would be a 'red belly'& have a four speed transmission. You either got a part number or read the s/n wrong; the highest 2N number wouldn't be much over 300k, if that.
