Got a question regarding my 9N and a Woods finishing mower. I stopped on the way home from work Saturday afternoon when I saw a friend of mine had his 60" Dixie Chopper ZTR high centered and stuck in a ditch!! I"ve done the same with my Husky CZ4817 and YES! it is embarassing. Got him unstuck and got to talking about different mowers and found out he"s getting a new finish mower for his 3910 Ford. He has a 60"or 72" (bad memory!) he"ll sell for $250.00 when he gets his new one. The old one (about 10 years old)is in excellent condition. He takes good care of all of his equipment. My question is, will my 9N handle either one OK? I"m trying to keep some hours off my ZTR unit. Most of the grass cut with the Woods would be in the 6"-8" range and not any thick stuff to speak of. Thanks in advance for answers/ advice.

Thanks for the input, guys. Now,its just a matter of waiting until he gets his new deck. This will be the first "new" implement that"s been bought for this tractor since about 1940 or so!! I"ll let you know how it works out. Thanks again.

I have a 9N and a Woods RM600 72" and it does real good. I cut in 2nd gear though.

I mow about 7ac of reclaimed pasture everyweek with a Woods RM-306 72". Powered by my "not so perfict" 2N.
You should have NO problem at all with either size.

Either ought to work OK if the tractor is in good shape and you keep'em sharp.

I have been using a 5' Woods rear discharge mower for about 5 years. I wouldn't trade it for the world. I pull it behind my 49 8N.

I pull a 72" Caroni around 3 acres cutting grass every week April - Oct in third gear behind my 8N's. If your 9N is in good shape, you will have no problem pulling a 72" finishing mower.
