Tex..... .with that time frame for sparkies going BAD, that genererally points to condensers. Condensers can be BAD right outta the box. $2 (cheap) replace it (again) You may need to go to a different store to get a different manufacturers batch. I know ittza pain but even professional electronics guys know certain types of condensers need to be checked with specialized test equipment. Something the average shadetree mechanic will NOT usually have in their shop.

And while this may not be the "only" cause for weak sparkies, I'd recommend replacing yer weaksister IGNITION SWITCH. ($10, cheap) They can cause short runtime weak sparkie problems too..... ...Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister

hey tex, good to see you posting. have you ever got her to fire up yet? if you have her back together and trying to get her to start, thats kinda what i do best. be glad to slip over ther and give you a hand. could be weak spring on points, dirty points, points slipping etc. and could be the pig tail and flat metal connector on bottom of coil not makeing good contact. I'd definitely change the points and condenser before I went any further.
