Got my alfalfa/grass/dandilion/weed field cut yesterday with the sickle bar, and about halfway through, the exhaust pipe dropped off the manifold (and given the manifold already leaks around the gasket, it wasn't that much louder).

Drove 'er back over to the shed and found that the flange on the exhaust pipe had rusted/worn away to the point where there wasn't enough to hang on any more. I got my welding gloves on (engine still hot) and backed off the clamp enough to throw a new pipe on (from my '50 frontmount that's still in a jillion pieces), and after tightening everything back down, she ran just fine.

Been a heap 'O hot here in the Middle West this week, and I sandwiched cutting the hay by doing some more roof tearoff (3 layers) on the house. Talk about a weight reduction program! I've lost over 10 lb. since we started that project…

How many cuts are you all gonna get over there this year? Things here next door in central Indiana are MIGHTY dry.
