I need to do the rear axel seal on my 8N.
How much does the tire/wheel assembly weigh?
Can two guys handle it?
Thanks

One person can remove the tire and wheel but it is easier with 2. The most important thing is to jack up the side you are removing with a farm jack and block the axle well. This means, with some strong stuff, logs etc. Dont let it have any movemen before removing the wheel. You will find it easier to loosen the nuts first, 1 turn? Raise it up just enough too get the tire off the ground. You will probably have to use a flat bar to help put it back on.

Good luck.

DON'T use concrete blocks to hold up the tractor!
They've been known to crumble under a load like a tractor.
Sound timbers are safer.

Especially if you lay them on their sides instead of the way they are designed to take the load of a building. Seems right to do that way -- after all, you get a nice flat surface intstead of those open cores. Problem is that the block won't support much load that way.

I agree with you -- solid wood is much better for this purpose.
