OT - Compressed air hose clamping

I had a leak at the end of my air compressor hose. I cut off the crimp and used a worm-screw type hose clamp to secure the hose to the barbed connector. It seems to work, but with 140psi I'd like to get some feedback as to the wisdom of this fix.

Thanks in advance

works real good. if one happens to pop off, then someone near may get a good whoppin. Nice thing about those type fixes is that it is easy to get a short piece of hose if you need it. Just take off clamp, cut you a piece of hose and put clamp back on. That trick saved me a trip to town just a few days ago.

I have run that at 150psi. No problem, but I now use crimp on clamps, they look better.

Been fixing air hose that way for 30 years and have never had any problems with them after doing that other then maybe a small leak after a few year. Then all I do is tighten it up more and go again.

That makes me feel better. I went back and put an additional clamp to help insure that my hose connector doesn't become a experiment in compressed air cannon design.
