In our 2N, we have an oil leak at the left Lower Link Support Pin. 9N563. The pin seems to be attached to the axle trumpet and it looks as though the axle trumpet will have to be removed to tighten up the pin. It is loose and rotates. We have a new gasket. Do you know any tricks to do this job, or is removing the axle trumpet the only solution?? (We do have a lift)
Many thanks for your input.

Dampen the paper trumpet gasket with water to make it relax and fit w/o tearing it up. No sealant required. I did put a little thin smear of silicone around the new lower lift arm pin and on the small gasket that the single bolt goes through at the lift arm pin. If the pin shows wear you will need to replace it or it will still leak. If you replace it be sure to get the correct one..9N, 2N pins have a straight shank. 8N has a tapered shank. The difference is pretty obvious.

Pappy..... .yep, thats it, gotta remove the whole rearaxle, brake, and trumpet to tighten the lower link pin. Why? 'cuz the lower link pin is COTTER KEYED with a castellated NUT from inside the trumpet. Tighten to 150ft/lbs. This has been discussed many times, you might want to search the "archives" at the top of this great N-Board for further and more descriptive comments. Its about 4-hr job..... ..respectfully, Dell

Thanks Dell (WA) We talked it over and decided there was no other logical explanation. Of course, we just put oil seals in the axles last week. Oh Well--!!!
