Looking to get rid of the original harness on the tractor and upgrade to a new one. Has anyone bought one from this site? There are two options equally priced. I assume one has split loom and the other I believe is woven fabric.

I used both types and made hundreds of harness's for fire trucks. I know there is hi temperature version of both the split loom(plastic) and the woven fabric but would like to know if the woven fabric is "hi temperature" and anything else that can be added.
Thanks

What two part #'s are you looking at? I see 4 harnesses available here for an 8N: 6V front mount, 6V side mount, 12V front mount, and 12V side mount. Looks pretty cut and dried, but you might have seen something that I didn't. I've purchased several 8N wiring harnesses over the years and they were all pretty much the same. Most all of them you'll find from the popular vendors were made by Tisco. No high-temp anything. Just automotive type wire with crimp terminals held together by the equivalent of electrical tape. Restoration type harnesses with cloth covered wire can be had as well.

Some of the older replacement harnesses sold by Ford had modern insulation on the wire and molded connectors and terminals. I prefer these as the connections are essentially corrosion-proof. They can still be found on eBay from time to time. They are usually sold as "NOS" and the molded connectors can be spotted in a good picture. Even still, they are no more heat resistant than the ones available now.
