The tail wheel on the old bush hog/shredder that came with my 8n was in bad shape when I brought the tractor home last summer. The wheel was out of round and beat up. Last month the wheel fell off out in the meadow. Snapped clean off the yoke. I never found the axle. I bought a new wheel, rim, axle and bushings today. I thought I could reuse the yoke but now I'm not so sure. One side of the yoke bends out away from the wheel. It will need a lot of heat and heavy work with a BFH to straighten it out. But the biggest problem is that the holes for the axle are all wallered out of round. I can't even get the new axle through the holes. I might could take it to a local machine shop to straighten it and drill out the holes. But I was wondering where I might find a new yoke. It's a 1 1/8 inch shaft and all the ones I found at the NH store and another local tractor place are 1 1/2 inch. Tractor Supply didn't have any.

Anyone got an old one they want to get rid of or suggestions where I might buy one?

Thanks.

Thanks for the offer, BCnT, but I found a local blacksmith who is going to straighten out the bent fork and redrill the axle bolt holes for me.

Ten bucks!

how wide is your wheel at the widest point?
i've got one off a old Sabre shredder but its for a narrow wheel.

Some 3/8 metal flat stock and a torch, and maul, and a form or anvillto beat it over and then drill out axle hole and top hole.. slide in old shaft after ya cut old yoke off. and weld around top and bottom.

Alternately, heat and beat the old one and weld on/in 2 spacers / pipe sections as bushings to the old yoke for the new axle.

Thanks guys, but I have neither the equipment nor the know-how to take this one myself. I'll look for a local machine shop.

Make one for it or have a machine shop make one for you. My self I do that type of thing all the time. Not all that hard to do if you have the equipment to do it and know how to weld
