49 8N.

When I step on the right brake hard I get this horrible grinding sound. Doesn;t do it on the left brake.

Neither brake works all that well. Are you supposed to be able to freeze the wheel on the inside of a turn if you want?

Most concerned about the grinding sound though.

Thanks as always for the excelent advice.

Phil..... .as you guessed, grinding is NOT GOOD. Could be NO BRAKE lining ...or... the spring centering stuff has come off their bracketts. Only way to tell is the dreaded brakedrum-removal for visual inspection and repair. Consult yer I&T FO-4 manual ($25, cheap) for how the return springs are supposed to be hooked up.

Yeah, I can LOCK up either left or right brake for sharper turns. Kinda diggs the pasture grass so I don't do if very often. Afterall, don't want my little sheepies to fall innna hole. According to the N-Owners manual, locked brake turning radius is 3-1/2ft based on centerline of rear axle. Outer front wheel radius is 8-ft..... .Dell
