I HAVE A 9N. THE HYDRAULIC WONT LIFT. I TOOK OFF THE RH COVER PLATE AND OBSEREVED WHILE TRYING TO RAISE. THERE WAS NO TURBALANCE IN THE RELIEF VALVE AREA. THERE WAS SOME OIL COMING DOWN FROM THE PISTON AREA, NOT A LOT,A STEADY TRICKLE. THERE WAS A LOT OF TURBALANCE IN THE FRONT AREA OF THE PUMP. I DRAINED OUT THE OLD OIL FLUSHED IT OUT WITH DIESEL FUEL AND PUT IN NEW OIL. NO LUCK ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRICATED

Off hand, it sounds like a gasket is blown in the pump. Try draining off some of the oil to get a better look at where the turburlence is coming from.

The best thing you can do is to first find a good 9n tractor manual and refer to the trouble shooting section on hydraulics. There is no gasket in the hydraulic pump. If you have a little lift on the arms you may just need to readjust the lift quadrant. Also make sure the shaft the lift handle is on is actually turning. If you do not have any lift at all, you probably have jumped the yoke on the internal control valve. I advise you not to disasemble any farther without a manual as a procedure must be followed to avoid breaking anything which can be very spendy. if you at this time still have no lift at all I can help you check the control valve without removal, other than the side inspection plate. if desired contact me thru the board or at my email address (grandpa@uslink.net) Rodney

The gasket I'm refering to, goes between the valve chamber and the base, part #9N-613.
