I bought my 48 8n 15 years ago with a gas cap for the tranny filler cap. It doesn't latch to the catch mechanism in filler neck.

I looked but no find in our hosts parts list.

Russ..... .I know a certain N-specialty parts place in Greenville NC that lists it.

8N 7485 - $40.00
Years: 1948-52
Transmission Filler Cap

I'd check yer local Case/New Holland (ex-Ford) dealer, with PART NUMBER..... .Dell

Transmission filler cap is a hex head flanged screw in cap, part# 8N7485 - should be easy to find. I don't understand your terminology "filler neck" - it's just a female thread in the tranny cover.

part# 8N7485 is correct number, but it's not threaded on the 8n, it's a 1/4 turn cap with 2 ears on it to lock into the tranny.

I've never seen any for sale, even on ebay.
may have to goto an old dealer see if he's got one laying around..
