SouNder;

Would you please look through your pic. list on your Genny ID'er, and see if you can find a part# for an 8N three brush, un-adjustable voltage genny!!??

Phil says he has one like the one I have, but I can't find any thing else on them.

Thanks

Hey Gary,

Have you opened it up and verified that it"s a 3 brush generator? I"m in Don"s camp ... I don"t think such a thing was made, and I believe that you have the 2 brush 8N10000B. But your empirical evidence sure beats my guesswork ;-)

GB.....as far as I know, the only 3 brush genny for the 8ns had the adjustment screw on the end plate, which was 8n 10000A.The genny in the pic looks like a two brush genny to me.Which was 8n 10000B.The 8N 10001 was a two brush and was for side mt. dist. tractors. The only diff in the 8n10000B and the 8n 100001 was the outside case for mounting purposes. don b

Don; Thanks again. 2brush 8n 10000B vrs. three brush. That's where I was screwing it up. No wonder I could not find it. I must have written it down wrong, after our first go round with this.third party image

Thanks for the reminder!!

SouNder; Just got back home, and saw your post.
Yep Don got me straightend out. I had written it down wrong. I had three brush, where it should have been two brush, for the wiring diagram I had made.
Not a problem, your animals have to eat first. Say hello to the mule for me.

This is just in case, you might need to match the pictures. Top lft. stud= grnd..... top right stud= field....and right rear stud= arm.

You're saying there's THREE brushes in that generator?

Bob; The genny is on the shelf, waiting for just what you mentioned, a complete going through it. Just like all the other parts I have taken off my 2N.

My reply to you was an attempt to show you, I had made a mistake.

Thanks.

Gary

Gary....I know you probably don't want to here this but, that genny is not for a 2n.Why not try to trade it for the correct genny,so your wiring and other parts work as they should. don b

Don; I'm saving up for the convert back to 2n genny, and cutout as of 2mo. ago, but as I said before, the $$$s just are not avail at the time and this system works good, IE: charging, and running. After I get enough $$$ to do the change over to OEM, then I'll sell this genny and V/R to someone who needs it. This 2N I've got, is not stock 2N, and is not a trailer queen by any account.
Thanks for the concern.
