Well I now have compression on 3 cylinders. Tranny fluid and tapping the stuck ones down has freed up one more now if the one in #2 will just free up I'll maybe get it running. Pulled the carb off and have it soaking but don't know if I'll get it clean enough to use a gain since its very bad. May end up building a carb from junk parts I have laying around. Oil leak is because the oil pan has loose bolts and even a few missing bolts. I hope I can just tighten and replace the bolts instead of doing a pan gasket but only time will tell on that

Gee Old , yours would fit in the Stck & Troubled section . Did ya try Blaster or Marvel oil ? Hope ya get it freed up . What would cause it to stick ? I'm no mechanic for sure , so I like to learn things in case I ever have a problem like it . Good luck & God bless. Ken

I did post pictures of it in stuck and troubled and Sean also put them on this forum down a page or so back where I said I hauled in an 8N today. I use tranny fluid because its cheaper then PB or MMO and works a good as they do or seems to. Reason the valves are stuck is this tractor has sat for 20-30 years with out being moved or haveing the engine turned over. It was one of those that if I didn't get it the scrap man would have. Shoot the guy that had it has seen all my old tractors and said he knew if I got it that it might be put back to work again or at least help some one else fix theres and thats why he sold it to me.

Glad you rescued it from the scrap man. That, IMHO, would have been a crime against posterity.

Good luck, and keep us updated.

Colin

Well if all works out it will probaby be running later today. I just came into the house to get a carb kit I have on the desk and then I'll put on a carb I had in the jnuk pile and see if it will start up on 3 cylinders and if so the 4th cylinder should once warm loosen up the valve enough to get it running on that one also or at least I hope it does
