I have been using the following plugs gapped at .034:

Champion (Copper Plus) 857 RH 18Y

They seem to foul, i.e. black carbon, pretty easily. Is there a hotter plug I should try? I can't get higher voltage and I can't do more with the carburetor.

Any ideas?

Would help if we knew what tractor you have. But taking a guess I would say you have them gapped to wide and should be around .025 and you also have your carb set to rich and need to turn the main jet in a turn or so

Not sure what machine you have?

N's run pretty good on AL437's and .025 gap

Higher gap will get you a bit more kv befor ethe arc, if you have it.

I also bleieve your plug is a resistor plug... not real great on breaker ignition systems unless you got an AM radio in there somewhere..
