I've started piddling with Granpa's old 9N and I believe this radior to be original given the stamping on the front.

I found these on the back side...

Anyone able to tell me what they mean?

full view of radiator...before I started trying to clean it up a little

in this photo you can see the sheet metal straps on the side... they've been soldered or braized directly to the top of the radiator at some point in it's life.

I'm NOT sure if the little soldered-on numbered tabs COULD have been from the factory, HOWEVER, sometimes radiator shops solder on little tabs with "code" on them to identify the radiator as one they have worked on, if it comes back for warranty work, or whatever.

You have an original early 9N non-pressurized radiator - and in great shape. The sheet metal staps you refer to are original and not added on. I have been looking for a good one for my 1939 9N for quite some time - you have a treasure there, take care of it.

Looks just like the radiator out of a 41 Ford 4 cylinder pickup I had. Still have the rad and engine/trans in barn. Guess what? The rad and engine block have 9N casting numbers, though the engine has a mechanical fuel pump.
