How do you tell difference from 9n2n

i have an old ford it has 9n 2n on the top of the spindles and has 9n onthe axle housing what is the tractor also the lower hood side have exterinal fasteners

If the struts from the front wheels to the frame are an "I" beam shape, it's a 9N, if they are an oval shaped tube it's probably a 2n.

Ron you can tell if your tractor is a 9n or a 2n by
the serial number.Ford produced 88934 9n's from
1939 to 1941 any serial number higher than this is
a 2n
