Another question that may be easier answered by the experts. On my 12v front mount, what guage battery cables are best and where is the best place to ground the negative cable.....to the side bolt that holds the battery tray on?

Also, how long should these cables be. My old ones where 15 inches (positive) and 20 inches (negative), measurements include the terminals.

All your help is appreciated.

Anvil:

Since you are not concerned with originality, the best solution for your 12V N is to use 1 Ga or larger cables. Ideally, you will connect the "ground" cable to one of the bolts that attaches the starter to the engine.

Since you have converted to 12V you can use cables smaller than 1 Ga but battery cables are kind of like money and HP: Some's good and more's better.
