My 4 1/2 yr old grand daughter has been a tractor lover since she could crawl. One of the grandkids got an 8N pedal tractor for Christmas 2 years ago, and the other 3 grandkids share a blue Ford and a red Case IH pedal tractors.

When my son's family (3 kids) was at Farmfest, they entered the kiddie tractor pull and did very well, and at a county fair scored 1st place in 4 yr old girls catagory, making her eligible for the National competition in Mitchell SD this past weekend. So Grandma and I and our live at home daughter went to Mitchell (motel), and my oldest son's family pulled their 5 wheel travel trailer. The 4 yr old girls were first up on the competition agenda. She got on that green Oliver pedal tractor and pulled the weight sled 35 ft for a tie in 2nd place. Kids and families from 20 states were competing, so it was quite a crowd in the Corn Palace. The 1st place winner in her class pulled 37 ft. They required a run off for the tie positions, and Brianna pulled another 35 ft, but her competitor pulled 37. Trophies were awarded to the the top 5 places in each age group. Now if she had been on the 8N, or a blue Ford, she would have probably smoked the girls in 1st and 2nd place!

All Good Fun!! But in the older age catagories, the competition gets really tough. Some of the kids are huge for their ages. Of course they load more weight on the sleds for the older kids. Some of the families came from as far as Texas!

Maybe I can post a picture, if I can figure out how to do it.

Keep Loving the Grandkids!

Glad ya"ll are having a blast with the grandkids! I just became a great uncle again last month. My youngest niece had a 9LB,14OZ girl! She"s not walking yet but give her time. We saw her at the family reunion for the first time Sunday, a beautiful child. My sister could light a room with the smiles she has on when the little one shows up. Family is so important to us since our mom and dad are gone and we lost an aunt and uncle earlier this year. Only got one one of Mama"s sisters left now. That"s the beauty of this forum, the family feel Thanks for letting me ramble. God bless you all.
