I am going to order an ORC for my 8n to go on the pto shaft for my brush hog I am picking up tomorrow - I am quite sure this is the original pto shaft on the '49 8n I have - I tried measuring the diameter this evening - do I measure the outside diameter of the shaft as a whole or the diameter between the inner section of the splines? Then I guess I measure the inside diameter of the coupling on the brush hog?

Thanks,

Lee

If yuor pto shaft is short.. say.. 3.5" then it is the 1 1/8" shaft.. but yeah.. measure OD of the shaft as if it wasn't splined...

Hmmm...will have to measure length again tomorrow - sure seems longer than 3 1/2 inches.....but then I always overestimate my lengths....third party image

Don't even worry about the length.. just check the girth.. that won't lie... (wink)

it'l either be 1 1/8 or 1 3/8.. etc. Many n's pto assy. have been changed out over the years..
