Well I figured I would find a loose oil pick up or a hole in it but when I dropped the pan this morning all looks just fine in that area. So I need some ideas of what else to look for. If I prime this thing I have good pressure at around 40 PSI when cold and when warm around 20PSI. If I let it sit over night or more I have to prime the oil system or I have 0 PSI. So what I'm I over looking on this?? Thanks

The way I have been doing it is take the line loose from the pressure gauge and fill it with oil. Then I wait a few minutes and fire it up and pressure comes right up. Theres other way of doing it but since the hood is off thats the easy way for me to do it right now

It was the bushing worn out in my pump. Looked like someone had been feeding it sand.

Anyhow, I found out that the shaft on the rebuild kit is 1/2 inch and the standard 1/2 reamer will make the new bushing fit like a glove.

Just goes to show you that a blind hog can always find an acorn.

I had the same problem. Oil pump rebuild kit is about $50. Not too hard. You will need to line ream the bushings. I took mine to an auto machine shop and had them hone the bushings. You can't "replace" the pump with a new one without line reaming the mains. You don't want to do that unless you are rebuilding the motor.

Old..... ....while principal cause of N's oilpump loosing prime is cracked or loose sheetmetal suck'em-up tube; the other cause is just plain ol'worn oilpump, even though you gitt 40psi cold..... ..Dell
