Hi, I seem to have no movement on my control arm when I move the quadrant lever as I peak through the access cover hole at dipstick. Don"t know if there is a key that"s broken. I did replace the cam follower pin as per Zane. I checked the adjustments on the underside of the lift cover as per IT manual. They seem close to specs. Anyone have any advice? Phippsburgh

Run yer hand down the rod and make sure its in the control valve at the pump.

Yes, it's in the valve deal at the bottom. When I move quadrant, the long inside lever just goes up and down a little...not fore or aft. seems like handle is loose up until last inch or so, then it gets tight to move from the seat. The big rear spring is loose out back of seat, but is turned all the way to the end of it's threads clockwise so I can't tighten it any more to get rid of end play/looseness. Thanks

The big rear spring is loose out back of seat,

One of the best tips i have got from ZANE

"If it still won't begin to lift when the touch control is moved to it's full up position you can then use my old trick to attain enough forward positioning of the internal draft link by again removing the anchor plate that is held with the three bolts and then fashioning a shim from a 5/8" flat washer that you have made a notch in to accommodate the dowel pin in the anchor plate that keeps the draft plunger rod from turning when the yoke is turned when installing or removing"

This means remove the big spring and make the shim, all can B done from the out side.

Does the lift work when you manually move the control lever were it fits into the pump. If not the control valve is stuck, pry on the control leaver and see if you can unstuck it.

ether way slack in the big spring outback will throw it out were it will not work. Its extremely important to have that part rite. Its one of the first adjustments Zane sends with the instructions with his adjustment JIG. The tips that come with the jig are priceless.

That arm is acted on by springs.. if the control valve at the pump is sticky or stuck, or otherwise hard to move.. the control arm WILL just move up/down, vs actuating the valve.. etc.

Check out that valve then post back.

Guys, I sprayed area with WD-40 and kroil, since there is no fluid in now because I had the pump off to clean it last month. This freed the valve up so when I lift quadrant handle, the rod pops forward and when I lower the quadrant handle the rod pops back with a one second delayed reaction I imagine due to the spring action like you'd said. I am cautiously optimistic that I can now button it back up and add fluid since the valve seems to be in the right spot when in the full forward position as per IT book.

I just hooked up my rear blade and lifts well and stayed up for half an hour and maybe lost 3 inches in that time, good enough for me. Thanks everyone!
