I have a 1948 8N, am I correct that cylinder #1 is closest to the operator? I can't seem to find this infor in my service manual.

99% of the time on all in line engines #1 is up by the radiator. Doesn't matter if its a tractor or a car/truck they are all pretty much the same. There is one of 2 companys that, that isn't rue on but thats why I say 99%. And on a V8 #1 is still up front also but one the left hand side and #2 is on the right hand side up front
