third party image

I got about 3 hours of wrenching time today to work on my '39, so I decided I would remove the crank, pistons, valves, front cover, and cam. I also decided to try out my sleeve puller set (Serial Number 0001) that I got from The Old Hokie a few months back when he was making the prototype.

The instructions were very clear, and the setup took less than a minute per cylinder. I used my impact drill to speed things up (the breaker bar in the pic was just to get the setup snugged up) and pulled all four sleeves in less than 5 minutes - without even working up a sweat. The puller worked amazingly well and was very simple and straight forward to use. My block had the thin .040" sleeves - and was no problem.

I give the sleeve puller two thumbs up, and am greatly appreciative we have talented people like TOH on this board that has the skill to make these. Now - I can't wait to try out the reproduction of the original designed sleeve installer...

Anyone sitting on the fence for one of these sets - get one before it is too late.

Dan

I may have to take me a dayum vacation from my desk job and come up there and help you remove unremovable bolts for a couple of weeks Hobo, that is one of my specialities.

I used to be very good at it, I may be out of practice though.

Really I am -third party image I'm glad it helped - and I think you'll find the installation mandrel works nicely as well. Too bad you got in on the ground floor and got the proto-type before all the improvements were added third party image

I have a 76 Lincoln 460 Zaust manifold job (dope dealer that owes my mom 100 bucks long story but he sheet her, not a dope deal tho but a God will strick me down deal if I do ya wrong deals) and a 76 F-600 4X4 Zaust manifold job how rucky can a man git. Read F-600 4X4 front PTO driven wrench, rock/brush guards all welded on and meant to stay Oh my backs kill'n me. Its a drill'n rig and the owner said he gits 10K a day to run it (have no mercy may B a little he is a good customer not a dope dealer). Heads off the Lincoln and engine is out of the F-600.
