Mr. feeling stupid,
Been there. First manual I saw was at the Ford New Holland dealer. The I&T Manuals are published by Intertec Publishing, P.O. Box 12901, Overland Park, KS 66282-2901. I have the Shop Service Manual FO-201 for my 1959 Fordson Dexta - excellent but complemented by the reprint of the Ford Operator's Manual F0-O-Dexta I got from Walt's Tractor Supplies (See home page this site). Also, look at tractor manuals on this site. Both manuals are very detailed with step by step methods and pictures for guidance. You should have no trouble finding them for your Ford N tractor. Be prepared to pay $29 to $40 per manual. Good Luck, JoeD

":o)

Join the club! I think it's a complete set of tractor manuals published by Implement and Tractor. My local New Holland dealer has them or at least can order them. I think these are reproductions of the original factory manuals. The language seems either old or UK. It speaks of "renewing" parts instead of replacing them, etc. They are the "bible" for working on the N.

Perhaps it's lack of curiosity or not knowing where to look, but there are plenty of links right here at Y-T to hook you up with the I & T manuals. Most of the advertisers on Y-T have them available. Most tractor dealers and farm supply stores have them. I even have a whole page in Ford-FAQ's with titles and sources for some of the books and manuals. The 9/2/8N is the FO-4. The NAA is the FO-19. Make sure to get the latest editions(1995 or later) because they have more stuff in them.

There is a difference between "replacing" and "renewing." You can replace a defective part with a used part. If you you "renew" a part, the implication is that the part is "new," which could mean either brand new, or NOS, "new, old stock," either way, an unused part.
