If you would install one of my ZANE THANG position control devices on your tractor you could throw the crutches (chains) away.

Click on the link below for information about this and other stuff I make for the Ford tractors.

I just put a twist in my chains. I do the same on my trailer safty chains so they don't drag.

I'm with you Marty BUT if I ever try and lift the Titanic I will make sure I have my chains all lined up.

Marty, did you know a twisted chain is about 10 times more likely to brake and because of that its unsafe to do so. Also if you got pulled over and had that chain twisted on your trailer you might get in trouble for doing so if you got stopped by the right cop. Shoot D.O.T. will make a trucker un hook a chain and rehook it if one of his chains is twisted. Guess ow I know that one LOL

I with Sound on this one a turnbuckle in place of the chain works well and if you can find them they where even some made just for that but I have never found any place that sells them that are made just to fit the N series tractor but at one time they did make them

Add one of those doohickies that screws together or apart like a toplink to shorten or extend.. I've seen em at TSC for chain hookes on each end... hook them across each side of your limit chains and them you have infinite variable adjustment... Can't for the lift of me remember their name right now.... uh.. wait.. here it comes. TURNBUCKLE
