I'll prob. get a blast on these, but....they work and are rated at/close to 700 lbs. working strength.(acording to my metal man.) And they are a lot cheaper than buying stay bars.
The middle chain acts as a stay chain, and also keeps the Drawbar from flipping over. The side chains and turnbuckles act as extra stay chains and are easily adjusted for position control from side to side.
I tested this with a 1000lbs on my trailer, which weighs approx.500 lbs., with no prob. at all towing.

Works for me, and I've got a total of $18.75 in it.

These are what you need. Have a TSC neer by? Leave the PTO off or you wii bend them bars if you raise the lift...

TSC also makes a set of adjustable sway chains. I have a set on my 5000.

What is there to stop the drawbar from going UP when there is not enough weight on it to keep it down? there are some nicely made drawbar stays on the market that keep it from turning and very(sanitary)looking. CENTAUR

How can the drawbar go up if the PTO is not engaged, and the pTO control is in the down position. The weight of the drawbar and the weight of the lift arms are what holds it down. You would have to be going pretty fast and hit a pretty big chuck hole to lift that drawbar.
Lets use comon sence here, Have you EVER seen a drawbar on an "N" Go up without the PTO powered. I haven't!!!!

I see what everone is talking about, but.... I already thought about that before, and I tested backing all over the place. Not once did my trailer lift the drawbar. Uphill, downhill, and j-knife into a parking space,...No lift.

Must be the way my trailer sits on the drawbar. Altho I do now see the point for the stay bars to be in place. Another trailer may sit different and lift it with ease. It must be the down angle at whitch the lift bars are at, when MY trailer is level.???? Trailer level.....hitch point @ 15 1/2" from ground, to top of ball, puts the tractor lift arms on a downward pitch. Tounge weight of trailer must be just enough to counter act the upward pressure.

BTW: I also tried backing the trailer when it was emty. Go fig.?????

Gary..... ....REMEMBER, yer N-hydraulics are power-up and gravity down. You can lift yer empty 3-point arms right now without strainin' 'nuttin'. You doubt??? Go out and lift yer empty 3-point arms, rite-now. Issn't that amazing???. That is why you can't back-up a wagon without "stay-bars" to keep the 11-hole drawbar triangulated so it can't lift..... ...respectfully, Dell

The difference between wagon and trailer work is tongue weight. G.B.’s setup is nice if you’ve got a heathy dose of tongue weight and don’t want to bust a gut hooking up. Just let the 3pt do the work. As someone who’s seen a ’64 Malibu SS peeking in the side window of a Cherokee, I say “ Gimme a little more on the tongue!” RounderRick

Ross; LMAO I sold the Green, when I sold my buisness! So ..... I'm saved!!!! LOL

Did you read the whole post.?? This was bothering me some, so I went and weighed the tounge weight on my trailer empty at the ball reciever.

That stupid tounge weight is 167lbs. at the reciever. Duel axcel, max GVW, 4000lbs. No wonder the drawbar did not lift. Snowmobile trailer, pretty lightweight. third party image I guess the answer is: Don't panic stop!!!third party imageOr save enough $$$ to buy a set of stay barsthird party image
