I have removed the lock ring, the hub-nut, and the brake drum. I cannot get the brake drum to come off even using a good three armed puller with stabilizer.
Can someone shine light?

Exp:

Are you trying to remove the hub or the brake drum.

You do not need to remove the hub to remove tha brake drum.

If you are removing the brake drum only, make sure that you have removed the 2 counter-sink, flat-headed screws that secure the drum to the hub.

If you have, penetrating oil, and patience should remove the drum if you have first backed the brake adjusters off sufficiently.

Thanks. I went to restore and saw the hub puller. Is there something other than the hub-nut to remove. If I look at the hub it looks as though there is something over the splines.
I have a shop repair manual for the jubilee and doesn't mention anything other than the lock-ring and the hub-nut before "using a suitable puller". Where does one find a hub puller?

Thanks Dan

You have a nut and a thick flat washer - just pull the washer off. As far as where to find a hub puller, do a search on eBay for "Hub Puller". Get ready to drop some real coin on one though. Get a good (old is preferrable) solid one that still has the striker (the arm at the top with the lugs on the end where you pound it with a hammer). I lucked out and found the old Craftsman you saw in the photo log for well less than $50, as the person listing it labled it a "Wheel Puller" and it did not get many views.

Good luck,
Dan

You need a hub puller. Click on the link below, go to the restoring tab, and scroll almost to the end.

Get a bigger puller?

SERIOUSLY, have you tried smacking the puller's lead screw with a large "fitting tool"?

(Keep your face out of the puller's probable trajectory.)
