Ok I have a thermostat that is not like the FO manual shows..I know it goes in the upper radiator hose but which way..one end is pointy and the other flat..does it go by the radiator or the engine and which way does it "point"?

Ricko..... ..used to be, the 160F pointy-end thermostat even had a directional flow arrow lightly engraved on the side of the thermostat showing that the "pointy end" pointed to the radiator. Isn't that amazing???..... ...respectfully, Dell

Gary..... ...6-weeks with my 60yo sister was some of the MOST STRESSFUL time I have ever spent. Iff'n the doc's don't gitter medications working, she ain't gonna be working. She is reminding me of my mom's final days from Alzheimer's, scary. I can't support 2-households and I ain't moving to Farmington NMex..... ..Dell

Ricko;
If your thermostat looks like the one shown in this pic., the flat end goes toward the radiator,and the sping end goes toward the engine, as close to the engine head as you can get it. The one Tom is talking about is the one pictured in the FO-4. Hope I caught ya in time.!

Pointed end toward radiator. Put it in the lower end of the top radiator hose. Put a clamp around it so it will stay put.
