Hello all, I have a 1949 8N with no power to the 3 pth, the lift arms can be moved up and down by hand. I got it this way 2 weeks ago. I have manuals coming. I have heard the automatic relief valve may be the problem, is that common? The fluid shows full on the dipstick. Where is the best place to start troubleshooting? Thanks for your help, Roger

Is the lever at your left heel pushed to the rear?

You guys are good. That worked but it won't go down. Does it have to have an implement on it?

Did you by any chance take the PTO out of gear?

The PTO has to be turning for the lift to werk.

Well I think I got a better deal than I first thought. I thank you both for the tip. I will be glad to get the op man so I won't have to ask silly questions. Without an implement on the lift I am guessing it is not suppose to go down with the lever? It went up but not down with the lever. Later Roger

Try some weight on the lift. i fthings are a bit rusty int he lift cover where the upper lift arms are.. it may be holding it up with no load.

If that isn't it.. pull the dipstick inspection cover and make sure the control valve is moving in and out of the pump freely as you move the handle..
