I have an old regulator and alternator from a mid 70's Dodge which I am going to install on my 52 8N. The reguator has two male pins in a triangular shaped connector. I have not been able to find out which pin is for the field and which for the armature or battery.I have tried several parts houses and even the local dealer and they could not tell me which is which and they do not carry the mating regulator connector. I am trying to make this work. Any help would be appreciated. I could go with a GM 10SI build-in reguator, but that would be too easy. Thanks.
Alex

Go to the library and get the Chiltons manual for older vehicles from the reference desk. It will have the section on electricals and cover this regulator. You may have to remove the cover to determine which pin goes to which section of the regulator, but you will then have your answer.

The center pin is battery voltage and the one to the side is field.

The BAT terminal should be closest to the contacts held OPEN by spring pressure.
