So, I have 9N and on the right side (seated), I have a hole in the Xmission. Inside the hole (grommeted) about 1 inch in, there is a 1" round shaft. It has a hole in the center of the shaft which is threaded for a 3/8" bolt.
I'm sure it aint a Sherman, I cant see it being a Hupp either.
Anybody have ANY idea what this puppy is or where I can get some info on it?

Thx guys

I need a bit more description on the shaft you see in there. Does it have fine splines and is actually about 5/8" in diameter? If so, my guess IS a Hupp.
OR, is it actually about 1/2" in dia with a flat spot and threaded for a 5/16" bolt? If so, my guess is F&T O/D. This one tapers to about 3/4" as it goes farther in.
I'm not familiar enough with the Funks, Parkers, & Hieslers to pick one from a description of the shifter shaft. Sorry,

Jim

Jim & Sean, me thinks we are getting closer to identification. This puppy has the tapered shaft with a flat spot on one side.

NOW, where can I get info on the possible culprit (F & T) Xmission.

I would like to find/buy a handle to see what silly gear I am in?

Anybody got idears?

Thx Guys

I have a handle for your F&T. You have there O/D and regular gearing only so it sounds as tho you're in O/D with the described speed. The one I have was given to me broken and is now being parted out.

E-mail me directly. Even tho this community tolerates it quite a bit, I don't care much for doing a lot of business on the forum.

You still looking for an Aux trans for your tractor? I was putting together a table full of Combos today and remembered you trying to help me out some months back. Time to make you a good deal.
I'll have (4) ready to go by the end of this week. Only (1) is spoken for. I have plenty of input shafts for those that may need to be set up for the later 100 series.

Jim

I wonder what position it is in? Have a hand held GPS? You can check your speed in all the gears... Here is a speed test I did a while back... Link

Im pretty sure the F&T was made by sears or wards...Looked at the pic again...You may be right...That could be a bolt holding it on....I know I guy that had a couple in his shed....No levers thou...I didnt take a close look. I have no use for a over drive...

Sean, sure a shame I aint got no leaks. Hate to split it. Sems like the Overdrive Xmission has a bolt. Iff'n it is long enough, might be that one. I gotta take a closer look.
Somebody thought I might have a Sears?

Thx

Looked at Smith's sight again...Looks like the F&T shifter shaft sticks out too...Looks like only one way to find out....Split it!! Must be another reason to split it...New clutch?...Tranny input seal leaking? BTDT not as hard as it looks...Just dig inthird party image

Nope, iff'n you look at Smith's site, the lever attaches to a shaft that extends out of the hole. My shaft does not extend out of the hole.

Well as I said it is on the right side as you are seated. The hole is right behind the right steering arm as the wheels are straight.
I went to Smiths, but cant tell what it is (the handle will not fit over the shaft as it is inside about an inch.

Pics would prolly not be of benefit, cause only thing you can see is a hole with a shaft 1" inside. The shaft is 1/2" dia.

Any other sites or ideas?

Thx agin

Sounds like sitting in the seat it is by his right foot. Could be a Hupp or a F&T...

Is that hole on the left side as you sit on the seat . If so , it's a Sherman . Go to this site : ntractor but add the word club & ask Jim Bills . He's got alot of knowledge about all the auxillary transmissions . Or go to John Smiths site & check with him . HTH ! I'm curious what you have myself . A pics would've helped more , so in the future post a pics along with the question . I'll check the site also & see what he tells you . If ya wanta , let me know what you learn either way . God bless, Ken
