Just finished moving a tandem truck load of fill about 1500 feet with my Jubilee and 30" scoop. Took about 10 straight hours with a 1 hr lunch break.
Looked forward to getting some seat time in the nicest time of the year.

Good things: Tractor ran great. Loading/unloading the scoop was easier then I thought.
Didn't have to hire a backhoe.
Got plenty of seat time.

Bad things:
Got plenty of seat time.
This morning every bone/muscle in my body hurts

Thought I was in shape ??
Since I probably have to do this once or twice more the question is:
Do they make a bigger earth moving implement ??

Alan

Maybe you could use a 5' box blade to drag the material where you sant it to go?

What you need is an Overland Scraper (see link). They were designed to move a yard and a half at one time, and were great for digging trenches or leveling ground. They were designed for the Ford tractor and designed to utilize the three-point system.

Of course, unless you plan to use it often, it probably wouldn't pay for itself.

Alan

I found I can drag a lot more dirt around in the 6 ft box blade thatn using the FEL on my 420 JD - a lot more if it is a short drag and it doesen't matter what is in between the load and drop off point.

So if ya got one or could borrow one that may work, I loan mine out to people who take care of it, but the distance to central IL is a little steep.

Alan; As far as I know; a 30" rear scoop is as big as they get. Next step is, buy a front end loader.
Sounds like you may have had the material piled in maybe two piles.!!???

Next time get the driver to spread the material down your driveway, as they dump. Then you won't have so far to go with each scoop load, and if you have a backblade, you can level out the drive with that.

Just a thought!!!

Gary...That would make it easy :)...I am trying to fill in some low spots in my driveway to my cabin..The first part of my "driveway" has a grade to it that the driver thought he didn't want to try...he said he would be able to get it in but was concerned on getting out...

Alan..... ...30" wide rear scoop is as big as they make. (altho they do make a 24" scoop") you can't gitt ennythang wider between yer rear wheels.

You need a bigger scoop? RENT a FEL tractor, or HIRE a back-hoe tractor/operator. Simple, eh?..... ..Dell
