Bill; That diagram is not one of my making, and to tell ya the truth , I did not even notice the way the light switch was routed. Would tend to rob the coil a little, and maybe shorten the life of the Ign. switch. Altho I have seen a lot of guys using that configuration, so the lights cannot get left on, if the engine is not running.
I just won't use that diagram anymore. It is a shame too, that diagram is so easy to read and is correct in all other ways, as to the stock wiring.

But I'm not going to change someone elses diagram. Maybe you could make one, that you feel would be better. I'm not very good at stuff like that.

That should take care of the wiring.

If you have more questions, post them here and someone will help you.

Thanks a bunch.... I had forgotten that older Ford's including tractors have a positive ground and I was about to hook it up wrong. Thanks again for both diagrams

Also; if you are rebuilding a 9N, you need to buy a good manual.
The I&T FO-4 Manual is available on this web site under manuals, on the lft. top of this page.

You are going to NEED it.

And here is an easier one to read.

Both of these are stock wiring for 9/2N positive ground.

GB - Could we not move that light switch connection to the terminal block connection so's it doesn't have to go thru the ignition switch? This diagram keeps coming up and is not recommended, The top one is correct.
