Have to posts planted out front that are far enough a part to put in a gate. Might do it in a week or so. I want to put down a thin layer of top soil then put in the winter rye...

Yep hind sight is 20/20. Now days when I put in a gate any place on the farm its at least a 16 footer or bigger. Found its no fun to swing the hitch on the MOCO in and out just because of a gate or for that matter on the square baler either.

Hmmnnn, you definately have a quandry. It would be advised that you make a second, 'tractor friendly' access (don't want to screw up the walkway approach to the 'Chateaux')

That reminds me of when i put in some cross fencing to fence off a pasture for our mule. I was going to put in a 12' gate, and the wife said no.. and insisted on a smaller 4' walk thru. NBot having any more fight left in me after fencing all day i put it in. Later that day she came out to the pasture to help me haul some water and feed and supplies ( buckets and waht not ) to the mules covered feed/water area, and I told her to grab an armload.. she looked at me quizzically and said.. lets just drive over... which i thn pointed to the 4' gate. I could see it hit her like a ton of bricks... I dind't even giver her an 'i told ya so'.. I just let it go. we hopped in the truck and hit lowes 10 minutes from us, and she helped me hang the gate even though it took us till dark...
